Chairman Roth called the meeting to order. Chairman Roth stated that <br /> based on the Mayor's proclamation regarding COVID-19, these meetings will be online until <br /> further notice. This is to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to also maintain social distancing. <br /> Normally commissioners introduce themselves, however since the meeting was online Chairman <br /> Roth read the names as they appeared from a list of those present on the Cisco Webex monitor. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> Minutes of the meetings December 8, 2020 <br /> Chairman Roth—Minutes for December 8, 2020, will be deferred until the next KVDC meeting. <br /> STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON AGENDA ITEMS <br /> Chairman Roth asked if there were any Public Testimony to be presented and Rosalind Newlon <br /> (Staff) answered none. No statements from the Public. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> 1. The applicant, Steven S. C. Lim of Carlsmith Ball LLP,is requesting design review <br /> of perimeter security fencing for the Niumalu Marketplace. The proposed security <br /> fencing consists of; 1) 48-inch-tall chain link fencing with black vinyl coating in <br /> areas atop the CRM wall facing Queen Kaahumanu Highway; 2) 48-inch-tall <br /> aluminum picket fencing with black powder coating atop an adjoining section of <br /> CRM wall facing Queen Kaahumanu Highway and 3) a third section, 48-inch-tall <br /> aluminum picket fencing with black powder coating atop a CRM wall facing Henry <br /> Street. The client is proposing to install security fencing to minimize fall risks due <br /> to the severe grade changes in the mauka area of the development. The Niumalu <br /> Marketplace was last reviewed before the KVDC on September 17, 2019, for the <br /> addition of the Retail Convenience Store and Adjacent Fuel Canopy and related <br /> parking and landscaping. <br /> 1 <br />
