Roth <br />Mayor Roth thanked the commission for volunteering their time and experience <br />and presented ideas on the areas the commission may choose to look into, <br />including private/public partnerships and charging fees for services now provided <br />free, within the boundaries of the current rules, recent supreme court decisions, <br />and procurement laws. <br />[2:14] 7 (a) Insights and Learnings from a former Cost of Government <br />Commissioner and current County Council Member on process and <br />approach to create a practical & actionable plan- Hawaii County Council <br />Member Ashley Kierkiewicz, D4 <br />Council Member Kierkiewicz presented tips on commission process and urged the <br />body to understand and refine recommendations from previous commissions, <br />efficient utilization, and investment in infrastructure, enhancing revenue streams, <br />and to participate in the budget discussions the week of April 12t1i, to better <br />understand the capacity to implement recommendations and the network systems <br />to complete the recommended changes. Commission urged to keep a watchful <br />eye on the federal covid relief funding and to address climate change by <br />County of Hawaii is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer. <br />
