CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL <br /> II. STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON AGENDA ITEMS <br /> Public statements must be related to items specifically listed on this agenda. <br /> Statements may be provided at the start of the meeting or when the specific agenda <br /> item is called. Testifiers are limited to a maximum of five (5) minutes. <br /> III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> December 19, 2025, regular and executive sessions. <br /> IV. DISCUSSION REGARDING SELECTION OF POLICE CHIEF <br /> The Commission will discuss and possibly make decisions regarding any remaining <br /> aspects of the selection process, which include, but are not limited to- <br /> • Finalizing the interview questions- there was a tie regarding two categories of <br /> questions- the Commission will decide whether to allow the Chairperson to <br /> decide which question to use. <br /> • The Commission will discuss how it intends to narrow the candidates, e.g., <br /> after the interviews are conducted, the Chair could ask each Commissioner to <br /> state their top three candidates. <br /> • Finalizing any interview format issues, including a maximum of five minutes to <br /> answer each question; and <br /> Hawai`i County is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer. <br />
