<br />ADA Coordinator Activities <br />August 2004 <br />Transition Plans: <br />Received Document Review/Technical Assistance from DCAB. <br />The following projects were returned for corrections: <br />Hawaiian Beaches Park Accessibility Improvements <br />Keaau Community Center Accessibility ImprovementsA.J. Watt <br />Gym (Mt. View) Accessibility Improvements <br />Waiakea Recreation Center <br />Waimea Courthouse <br />DCAB: <br />Attended 2 workshops Parking Design Notification Program for <br />Hawaii County – one in Hilo (Aug. 18) and one in Kona (August <br />31). The Kona training was originally scheduled to take place at <br />the Police Department but, due to the lack of accessible public <br />washrooms, it was relocated to the Kona’s Mayor’s Office. <br />Aupuni Center Parking lot – not compliant with State law: does not <br />have access aisles on either side of space in angled one way <br />parking lot. Referred to Department of Public Works. <br />Another meeting of the Transportation Committee that was open <br />to the public, was cancelled because it was also scheduled for the <br />Kona Police Station. <br />The Police had orders that the training room was not to be used <br />for public meetings. However, there was a change in command <br />and the directive was not clearly communicated to the new <br />Captain <br />Identification Cards for People Who are Deaf, etc. <br />Jim Souza kindly made some inquiries and I was contacted by <br />Francine Kenyon. My last communication was to Kris Pagano to <br />advise her that Sidney Kanno of Coordinated Services had <br />expressed a willingness to work on this project. Coordinated <br /> <br />
