Takaba at 9:00 a.m. MR. TAKABA: was asked to chair temporarily until we elect the officers. Can you go around the table and introduce yourselves. INTRODUCTION OF COMMISSIONERS Kenneth Armour Glen Matsuda Marilyn Nicholson Eileen O’Hara Patricia Provalenko Gloria Wong MR. TAKABA: Can you go around the table and introduce yourselves. I’m Bill Takaba with the County Mayor’s Office. MS. O’HARA: I’m Eileen O’Hara and I’m representing District 5, which corresponds to the Council member’s district that’s Emily Naeole-Beason’s district. I teach online graduate and undergraduate economics. I also worked for a bio-diesel company as business development specialist. I had previously worked for the County of Hawai‘i for five years and for the State of Hawai‘i. At the County, I was a planner and recycle coordinator. With the State, I was a contract manager. Prior to that I worked our local utility, electric utility, and several non-profits in town. MR. MATSUDA : My name is Glen Matsuda. I represent District 2, Donald Ikeda’s district. I currently work with the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations. I’m an auditor and a supervisor there. I supervisor a bunch of people in both Hilo and Kona. I have been with the PTA statewide, the Jaycees, currently with the Lions Club. I enjoy doing work as an accountant, as an auditor, and I guess that’s my thing that I enjoy doing.
