The following persons were present: <br />Action Committee: Elmer Solis, Frank Commendador, June Conant, Larry Brown, Leila Kealoha, Patti <br />Pinto, and Susan Osborne. Farris Etterlee was absent. <br />Staff. Hans Santiago — Puna CDP Project Manager and Keiko Mercado — Puna CDP Planning <br />Assistant. <br />Members of the public: 12 <br />ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA: NON <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS: <br />1. <br />2. <br />W <br />Patti announced that there will be a CcTmmunity Emergency Response Team (CERT) basic <br />training course on October 8, 15, 22, & 29 at the Kea`au Community Center from 8:30am — <br />4:30pm. This training will provide you with knowledge and skills to prepare for and properly <br />respond to an emergency lmcting yourself, your family and/or your community. Classes are <br />free. <br />Larry announced that contralo his announcement at the previous AC meeting, he will be <br />present for the September Action Committee meeting. <br />PUBLIC TES ONY: One person signed up to testify and chose to testify at the time of the agenda <br />item. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES: <br />Patti moved to approve the minutes of t ay 10, 2016 meeting as submitted. Second by Elmer. The <br />motion to approve the minutes a subm tted passed with 5 votes aye, 0 votes nay, and I vote to abstain. <br />NEW BUSINESS: <br />1. Update on the General Plan Comprehensive Review: <br />April Surprenant and Ron Whitmore of the Planning Department shared a brief update on the <br />General Plan Comprehensive Review process. There are five phases of the review process and <br />currently we are about midway through phase two.
