WINDWARD PLANNING COMMISSION <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />HEARING TRANSCRIPT <br />DECEMBER 1, 2016 <br />A regularly advertised hearing on the application of GREENWILLMIND, LLC (USE 16-064) <br />was called to order at 9:02 a.m. in the County of Hawaii Aupuni Center Conference Room, 101 <br />Pauahi Street, Hilo, Hawaii with Chairman Gregory Henkel presiding. <br />COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Joseph Clarkson, Donn Dela Cruz, Gregory Henkel, Donald <br />Ikeda, and Raylene Moses. <br />ABSENT & EXCUSED: Myles Miyasato. <br />ALSO PRESENT: Duane Kanuha (Planning Director), Malia Ho (Deputy Corporation Counsel <br />for the Windward Planning Commission), Daryn Arai (Planning Program Manager), Jeff Darrow <br />(Staff Planner), Maija Jackson (Staff Planner), Christian Kay (Staff Planner), and Sarah <br />Hata-Finley (Commission Secretary). <br />And 8 members from the public in attendance. <br />APPLICANT: GREENWILLMIND, LLC (USE 16-064) <br />Application for a Use Permit to allow for the establishment of a 2 -bedroom bed and breakfast <br />establishment within an existing single family residence on 3 acres of land zoned Single Family <br />Residential -15,000 square feet (RS -15). The subject property is located at <br />1245 Kaumana Drive, directly opposite of Basque Place and makai of Edita Street in Kaumana, <br />South Hilo, Hawaii, TMK: 2-5-027:002. <br />HENKEL: With that, let's proceed with Agenda Item 1 which is Greenwillmind, LLC, USE <br />16-064, and Christian Kay will be doing the presentation. <br />KAY: Thank you, Mr. Chair. Good morning. Good morning, members of the Planning <br />Commission. I hope everybody came in dry today. <br />As you said, Mr. Chair, the first application is a Use Permit application. This is a location map <br />of the area. The subject 3 -acre parcel, outlined in black here, is located in the South Hilo District <br />of Hawaii Island; more specifically, in the upper Kaumana area. For reference, we've got <br />Kaumana Drive running generally east -west through the slide. The subject parcel is directly <br />across Kaumana from Basque Place and makai of Edita Street. <br />A little bit closer picture of the location, again outlined in black, is the subject parcel. For <br />reference, again, Kaumana Drive running in this case north -south through the slide with Edita <br />Street and Basque Place. <br />EXHIBIT A <br />
