HAWAII COUNTY CHARTER COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES <br /> 11th Session <br /> March 27, 1979 <br /> Hilo, Hawaii <br /> The eleventh session of the Hawaii County Charter Commission <br /> was called to order at 3 :45 p.m. in the Hawaii County Councilroom, <br /> Hawaii County Building, Hilo, Hawaii , by Mr. Kimiaki Sakata, <br /> Chairman. <br /> The roll recorded the following: <br /> Present: Mr. Richard Ishida <br /> Mrs. Amy Iwamoto <br /> Mr. Kimiaki Sakata <br /> Mr. Herman Sensano <br /> Mr. Joseph Trulson <br /> Mr. Basilio Yagong <br /> Absent Mr. Harlan Cadinha <br /> and Mrs. Gloria Kobayashi <br /> Excused : Mr. Akira Omonaka <br /> Mr. Spencer Kalani Schutte <br /> Mr. Matsuo Yanaga <br /> Also Attorney Stuart Oda <br /> Present : Recording Secretary Joan Carnett <br /> RULES OF Mr. Trulson made the motion to suspend the rules <br /> PROCEDURE: of procedure to hear testimony from the United <br /> Public Workers. Seconded by Mr. Yagong and unan- <br /> imously carried. <br /> UNITED The Chair introduced Mr. Jack Konno of the United <br /> PUBLIC Public Workers. <br /> WORKERS: <br /> MR. KONNO: Mr. Chairman and members of the County <br /> Charter Commission. My name is Jack Konno. I am the <br /> Division Director of the United Public Workers. <br /> We are very appreciative of the fact that this <br /> honored body has given the public sector, unions, an opportunity <br /> to appear and testify. <br /> We were scheduled to present our testimony today <br /> but , unfortunately, we are still not quite ready to represent our <br /> union ' s position and would like to ask this body for another extension <br /> of two weeks at which time we hope to make known our union ' s position. <br /> The date, Mr. Chairman, I believe would be around the 10th of April at <br /> which time we would like to be rescheduled to appear before this <br /> commission. <br />
