APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF NOVEMBER 25, 2003 MEETING: 2. Hugh Ono made a motion to approve the November 25, 2003 minutes.David Frankel seconded the motion. APPROVAL OF ADDENDUM AND/OR SUPPLEMENTAL AGENDA 3.: None STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON ITEMS LISTED ON AGENDA 4.: David Marquis provided an overview of KA2020 proposals and federal funding applications that are being submitted for environmental projects Council member Tyler offered the following comments on various i Clarified that the area to be studied as authorized by council on December 17, 2003 was not limited to the North Kona Industrial Park. The free green mulch available to Kona residents is beneficial. Suggested two former solid waste sites adjacent to Palani Road as possible Brownfields Inventory and Assessment sites. One council issue/concern regarding the Organics Diversion program is the cost. Requested reconsideration of building a new landfill adjacent to current Hilo landfill. Will request assistance and support from our Congressional delegation with the Kealakehe Wetlands Project when he goes to Washington D.C. in Fe will provide him with information. Pointed out inconsistencies in the Draft Solid Waste Administrat and made suggestions regarding additions and deletions. Would support and introduce a Charter Amendment to the council relating to commission duties if the amendment used language similar to that 1998 Charter Amendment relating to Planning Commission in Sectio Councilman Reynolds announced a public forum from 5 p.m. to 9 p. at the Keauhou Beach Hotel relating to county solid waste management.
