Designation of person,contractor,or <br /> subcontractor who will do work. <br /> Scope:This procedure applies to all permit transfers including Owner-builder, building, plumbing and <br /> electrical contractors, and change of ownership. See below for change of design professional. <br /> g Do I Need to Transfer a Permit? <br /> A: 1) Should an owner wish to change from the declared "Owner-Builder" exemption <br /> of the Hawaii Contractor statute, then this form must be completed and approved prior <br /> to completion of the project. <br /> 2) Occasionally the contractor or subcontractor(plumbing, electrical) will need to <br /> be changed or updated so a transfer is required to do so. <br /> 3) Should ownership of a property occur with an open building permit, it is required <br /> that the new owner transfer the permit to their name to continue the work. If work had <br /> not begun from 180 days off the permit issued date, the transfer would be denied and <br /> permit voided. <br /> g Can I transfer a permit? <br /> A: Only the property owner may transfer permits. <br /> g Who can transfer a permit? <br /> A: Only the property owner may transfer permits.
