Site plan attached.
(e)A list of the names, addresses, and tax map keys of all property owners located within 300 feet of
the perimeter boundary of the affected property. Mailing list attached.
(f)A copy of the notice that will be sent to surrounding property owners pursuant to HCC Section 3-
22(c)(9). Notice sent to surrounding property owners
(7) Filing Fees: This application must be accompanied by the fee of$100 for each sign or an amount
equal to 10%of the total value of the sign(s),excluding installation costs, whichever is greater,
payable to the County Director of Finance.
(8)Written Explanations
(a)Granting the variance is necessitated by the peculiar physical conditions not ordinarily found in
most districts, because of the peculiarity of a business,or as a result of a special event or
circumstance. Requesting replacement of the existing Illuminated sign with the same size lettering and
logo height as was approved for HFS Federal Credit Union in 2011 by the Building Department and KVDC
Planning Department. Proposed sign will have new rebranding and same 16" size lettering and 22" logo.
The sign footprint will be less than half the size of the existing sign in sq. ft. and in width. This will be a
non-illuminated sign. Requesting exception to Chapter 3 sign codes 3-58(c)for 9" lettering and logo
size.
(b)Granting the variance will not adversely affect the rights of adjacent property owners or tenants.
Replacing our existing sign with similar or smaller dimensions will have no adverse effect on the
adjacent properties. The parallel businesses in the shopping center have signs that are similar or larger
in size. For example, Sally has 24" lettering and Baile has 35" logo, which are much larger than our
proposed sign.
(c)Granting the variance will not unreasonably violate the interest, safety, convenience, or general
welfare of the public. The community is used to seeing HFS for some time now and is a benefit to use the
same size lettering to help the public in wayfinding. Proposed new sign will be non-illuminated reducing
the light pollution in the area.
