NORTH KOHALA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PLAN ACTION COMMITTEE MINUTES Monday, March 10, 2014, 5:00 pm North Kohala Senior Center, 54-3900 Akoni Pule Hwy., Kohala, HI 96755 ATTENDANCE 1. Members Present: John Winter, Faith Yates, Susan Fischer, Frank Cipriani, Joe Carvalho, and Jon Adams. 2. Members absent: Christopher “Keone” MacKillop and Collin Kaholo. Also present was Rosalind Newlon from the Office of the Hawai’i County Planning Department. 3. Public Attendance: Lucy Pasco, Carter Collins, Toni Withington, Jojo Tanimoto, Jesse C. Wells, Marlene Ching, Margot McFedries, Gale Perez and Noe Kalipi. I. CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 5:02 pm by Chair, John Winter. II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Minutes of the Meetings of January 13, 2014 and February 10, 2014. Minutes of the January 13, 2014 meeting were reviewed and discussed by the AC Members. A motion to approve the minutes was made by Susan Fischer and seconded by Joe Carvalho, and were unanimously approved with changes submitted by the AC members. The minutes of the February 10, 2014 meeting were deferred by the Chair until next month’s Action Committee meeting. III. STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON AGENDA ITEMS: Toni Withington made a statement regarding the Kohala Kai grant of easement agreement and said that work is being done to work out a solution for the Ala Loa trail. Jojo Tanimoto said that the South Kohala CDP Action Committee and the Hawaiian Homelands were not made aware of a meeting to discuss the Ala Loa trail. IV. SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS: a. Growth Management –Jon Adams said that there were no applications to report on this month. b. Public Access – Joe Carvalho provided updates on trails and access easements: Akoakoa Point-there a walk-thru with representatives is 1
