<br />WINDWARD PLANNING COMMISSION <br />COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />FEBRUARY 5, 2015 <br /> <br />The Windward Planning Commission met in regular session at 9:02 a.m. in the County of <br />Hawai‘i, Aupuni Center Conference Room, 101 Pauahi Street, Hilo, Hawai‘i, with Chairman <br />Myles Miyasato presiding. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Myles Miyasato, Gregory Henkel, Donald Ikeda, Raylene <br />Moses, and Stephen Ono. <br /> <br />ABSENT & EXCUSED: Charles Heaukulani. <br /> <br />ALSO PRESENT: Duane Kanuha (Planning Director), Danny Patel (Deputy Corporation <br />Counsel for the Windward Planning Commission), William Brilhante (Deputy Corporation <br />Counsel for the Planning Director), Jeff Darrow (Staff Planner), Christian Kay (Staff Planner), <br />and Sarah Hata-Finley (Commission Secretary). <br /> <br />A quorum was present. Chairman Miyasato introduced staff and Windward Planning <br />Commissioners to members of the public. <br /> <br />STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC – No statements were presented under this section of the <br />agenda. <br /> <br /> <br />1.APPLICANT: LANCE MOE (REZ-14-183) <br /> <br />Application for a Change of Zone from Single-Family Residential-10,000 square feet <br />(RS-10) to Neighborhood Commercial-10,000 square feet (CN-10) for 22,500 square feet of <br />land. The property is located on the southwest corner of the intersection of Kekūanaōa Street <br />and Laukapu Street, Waiākea House Lots, Waiākea, South Hilo, Hawai‘i, TMK: 2-2-036: <br />042. <br /> <br />The Commission took this item up at 9:03 a.m. with 4 people from the public in attendance. <br /> <br />(SEE EXHIBIT A) <br /> <br />This item ended at 9:30 a.m. <br /> <br /> <br />2.INITIATOR: COUNTY COUNCIL (GPA-14-002) <br />Amendment to Map 14 of the Land Use Pattern Allocation Guide (LUPAG) Map of the <br />County of Hawai‛i General Plan (adopted by Ordinance No. 05-025, as amended) by <br />changing the land use designation for portions of Kea‛au Village and immediately <br />surrounding Kea‛au Village, Kea‛au, Puna, Hawai‛i. <br /> <br />The Commission took this item up at 9:30 a.m. with 6 people from the public in attendance. <br />Page 1 of 4 <br />Windward Planning Commission <br />February 5, 2015 Minutes <br /> <br /> <br />
