North Kohala Community Access Group <br />Meeting Notes <br />June 3, 2015 (Old Courthouse 4:30pm) <br />Participants: Dave Richardson, Toni Withington, Carter Collins, Beth Robinson, Aric Arakaki, <br />Keith Wallis, Margot McFedries, Joe Carvalho, Keoni Mackillop, Jeff Coakley, Ted Matsuda. <br />❖ Akoakoa Point (Bird Cave) <br />➢ Joe will get an update from Eldridge Naboa <br />❖ Hapu'u — Kapanaia <br />➢ Pacific Plains. <br />■ The County Council drafted a resolution that has been sent to the county attorneys for <br />review. <br />o The resolution is to negotiate & purchase lands in Nuilii, Halelua, & Pacific <br />Plains) <br />➢ Kapalama Heiau is being desecrated. <br />■ People are still driving over the Heiau <br />■ Toni will contact Misty Kai & Pacific Plains if they want us to help secure the Heiau <br />area. <br />■ A State Historic Preservation Plan was approved for Pacific Plains to address their <br />portion of Kapalama Heiau. <br />❖ Halelua <br />■ Vipassana <br />o The county will be accepting comments on the GOE until June 26th. <br />❖ Kauhola Lighthouse <br />➢ NSTR <br />•'• Ainakea — Makai <br />• ➢ The trail gate has been moved. <br />■ We need to verify that the gate is in the right place & let the county know if it is okay. <br />o Keoni will check it out. <br />❖ Pahoa Beach <br />➢ Some of us will meet on June 8th to verify the trail. <br />■ Everyone will meet at 2:00 by the gate. <br />o If there is anything wrong with the trail a written formal complaint must be filed <br />with the county. <br />❖ Upolu Airport - East <br />➢ The county planning department will work with the landowners on the access trail <br />■ We'll forward Lucas's (planning department) answers from last month to Charlie & <br />Dave. <br />❖ Upolu Airport - Restoration <br />➢ This month they will be concentrating on soil erosion control <br />❖ Latitude 20 Holdings (Lamaloloa) <br />➢ The current listing agent is Charlie Anderson. <br />Page 11 <br />
