The following persons were present: <br /> <br />Action Committee: June Conant, Leila Kealoha, Patti Pinto, Elmer Solis and Farris Etterlee. Susan <br />Osborne, René Siracusa, Oshi Simsarian and Sharon Daun were absent <br /> <br />Staff: Hans Santiago – PCDP Planner and Keiko Mercado – PCDP Planning Assistant. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Members of the public: 4 <br /> <br />ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA: <br /> NONE <br /> <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS: <br /> <br /> <br />1. <br />Leila announced that the Town Hall Subcommittee is looking for community events in Puna <br />where they would be able to set up an informational table. <br /> <br /> <br />PUBLIC TESTIMONY: <br /> One person signed up to testify and chose to testify at the time of their <br />agenda item. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES: <br /> <br />June moved to approve the minutes of the August 11, 2015 meeting as submitted. Second by Leila. <br />The motion to approve the minutes as submitted passed with 5 votes aye, 0 votes nay. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS: <br /> <br /> <br />1.Communication No. 2015-37: Connectivity and Emergency Response Subcommittee <br />(CERS): <br />Marlene Hapai reported on the activities of the subcommittee, noting that there were <br />two items under New Business: <br /> <br /> <br />a. <br /> Review of Lava Tree Park/Nanawale alternate connection to Highway 132: Should <br />read as follows: Connect Nanawale to Hwy 132 via Forest Road and Lava Tree Road. <br />Map also needs to be updated to add Lava Tree Road. <br /> <br /> <br />b. <br />Topics of Concern: <br /> <br /> <br />i.Importance of Apa’a Road being opened <br /> <br /> <br />ii.Revisited the Civil Rights claim filed regarding the 1998 Hawaii Long Range <br />Land Transportation Plan <br /> <br /> <br />iii.The need to orient people regarding CL’s and Mass Transit issues to include <br />overlay and redundancy, hub and spoke, multipurpose inter-subdivision <br /> <br />Hawai‘i County is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer <br /> <br /> <br />
