Motion passed unanimously. <br />APPROVAL OF ADDENDUM AND/OR SUPPLEMENTAL AGENDA <br />3.: None <br />STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON ITEMS LISTED ON AGENDA <br />4.: <br />Nelson Ho, Recycle HawaiÒi, gave an update of the Keaau Recycle and Reuse Center <br />(attached to original minutes). There will be a ÐmilestoneÑ event in January transitioning the <br />center from pilot project status to a permanent facility. Demographic data will be included <br />in Recycle HawaiÒiÓs final report to EPA. Christmas tree disposal will be available again <br />this year at select transfer stations. The biannual household hazardous waste disposal dates <br />are December 6, 2003 at the Hilo Transfer station and December 13, 2003 at the Kealekehe <br />Transfer Station. <br />CORRESPONDENCE/REPORTS/DISCUSSION: <br />5. <br />DirectorÓs Report <br />(attached to original minutes) <br />DRAFT EIS FOR SORT STATION: <br />Smith requested Bell to provide an updated schedule at the next commission meeting. <br />OTHER: <br />Eileen O`Hora-Weir gave a summary of the Joint State Legislative Task Force on Solid Waste <br />and Recycling tour of November 18 and 19, 2003, and distributed a HawaiÒi Tribune Herald <br />article dated 11/19/03 (attached to original minutes). The task force report will be distributed to <br />the commission when it is available. <br />Tyson and Bell will be speaking to the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors <br />at their December 17, 2003 meeting regarding the Sort Station EIS and hauling to West HawaiÒi. <br />GREENWASTE: <br />Because of the space limitation, location of greenwaste area and amount of greenwaste coming <br />in, there is a larger quantity of processed greenwaste in Kona than in Hilo. Policies have been <br />implemented to address fire issues. <br /> <br />
