Section Chief <br />Peter Boucher, WWD Chief <br />Michael Dworsky, SWD Chief <br />Sharron Henry, Secretary <br />Bobby Jean Leithead-Todd, Corp Counsel <br />Amy Self, Corp Counsel <br />CALL TO ORDER: <br />1.Commission Vice Chair Erway called the meeting to order at <br />9:05 a.m. She introduced Diana Miller, new Commission member for District 6; <br />Michael Dworsky, new Solid Waste Division Chief; and Jeff Zimpfer, Nonpoint <br />Education for Municipal Officials (NEMO) presenter. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF MAY 25, 2005 MEETING: <br />2. <br />Arnold Okamura made a motion to approve the May 25, 2005 minutes. Sam <br />Kawamura seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously. <br />APPROVAL OF ADDENDUM AND/OR SUPPLEMENTAL AGENDA: <br />3. <br />Miller made a motion to add to NEW BUSINESS a discussion of ways for the <br />Commission to facilitate the County Council in sold waste issues. Sumner <br />seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. <br />STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON ITEMS LISTED ON AGENDA: <br />4. None <br />CORRESPONDENCE/REPORTS/DISCUSSION: <br />5. <br />Solid Waste Division Chief’s Report <br /> (attached to original minutes) <br />BOTTLE BILL UPDATE: <br />5 <br />HI recycling continues to grow. <br />Staff is working to get more redemption centers open around the island <br />Recycling Specialists visited 96 Big Island retailers to date to assist with bottle bill issues. <br />RECYCLING STATUS: <br />st <br />Recycling area will be open August 1 at Hilo Transfer Station. <br /> <br />
