REQUEST: <br />October 27, 2020 <br />ext. 8271 <br />This is a request for a Bill to amend Ordinance 20-45, as amended, the Operating Budget, by increasing <br />grana: revenues and expenditures from a private organization, The Center for Tech and Civic Life (CTCL) to <br />accept a "COVID-19 Response Grant" in the amount of $177,193.75 for the Office of the County Clerk, <br />Elections Division. CTCL, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, is providing grants to local election offices for the public <br />purpose of planning and operationalizing safe and secure election administration for the 2020 .United States <br />Elections. <br />Also, requesting that this Bill is waived through the Finance Committee to the County Council meeting on <br />November 6, and that the five day hold also be waived. <br />B. BACI'CGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br />The center for Tech and Civic Life (CTCL) is a national nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization which offers election <br />officials affordable opportunities and resources to connect Americans with information they need to become <br />and remain civically engaged and ensure that elections are more professional, inclusive and secure. <br />The CTCL offers the tools to harness, the promise of technology to modernize the American voting <br />experience resulting in high -performing election offices, increased public confidence and trust, a more <br />resilient and adaptive election system and better informed voters. <br />The CTCL is providing COVID-19 Response Grants to local election offices for the public purpose of <br />planning and operational izing safe and secure election administration for the 2020 United States Elections. <br />SIGNED: DATE: (I 20 IIXU <br />DepItment Head <br />
