WHEREAS, the coronavirus pandemic has delayed initial timelines for approval of the 2019 ISWMP, but the Department of Environmental Management remains committed to its implementation; and WHEREAS, the Department of Environmental Management has provided a formal response to the comments provided by the Hawaii State Department of Health, Office of Solid Waste Management, and has incorporated the necessary revisions in the final Integrated Solid Waste Management Plan; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that pursuant to HRS Chapter 342G, Part III, the Council hereby authorizes the acceptance of the 2019 Integrated Solid Waste Management Plan prepared by Parametrix in association with Wesley R. Segawa and Associates, Inc., dated August 2019, and attached hereto as Exhibit B. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that pursuant to HRS Chapter 342-G, Part III, the County of Hawaii Integrated Solid Waste Management Plan is authorized to be submitted to the Hawaii State Department of Health, Office of Solid Waste Management. BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the Honorable David Y. Ige, Governor, State of Hawaii; Dr. Elizabeth A. Char, Director, Department of Health; the Honorable Mitchell D. Roth, Mayor; and Ramzi I. Mansour, Director, Department of Environmental Management.
