The grant will be used for the <br /> organization to work collaboratively with Hawaii island communities to divert plastics <br /> from our landfills and beaches and utilize technology to turn them into functional art. <br /> This grant will provide the required share match for funds awarded to the County from <br /> National Endowment for the Arts. <br /> Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide <br /> $75,000 to East Hawaii Cultural Council, pursuant to Hawaii County Code(2016 <br /> Edition as amended) Chapter 2, Article 25, Section 2-139(a)(3)(A). This grant will <br /> provide the required share match for funds awarded to the County from National <br /> Endowment for the Arts. <br /> We respectfully request that a breach be authorized to submit this resolution after the July <br /> 29, 2022 submission deadline, and to waive it from the Finance Committee in order to be <br /> placed on the August 17, 2022 Council agenda.
