Thus,the requested boundary amendment would beinthe <br /> direction offulfilling the permissible uses ofthe rural designation. <br /> The requested Rural District reclassification action also conforms tothe following <br /> goals, objectives and/or policies articulated in the Hawaii State Plan relating to Socio- <br /> cultural advancement- Housing objectives and policies: <br /> (a) Planning for the State's socio-cultural advancement with regard to housing <br /> shall bedirected towards achievement ofthe following objectives: <br /> /1\ Greater opportunities for Hawaii's people tosecure reasonably priced, <br /> safe, sanitary, livable homes located insuitable environments that <br /> satisfactorily accommodate the needs and desires nffamilies and <br /> individuals. <br /> (2) The orderly development ofresidential areas sensitive tocommunity ° <br /> needs and other land uses. <br /> (b) Toachieve the housing objectives, itshall bethe policy ofthis state to: <br /> /1\ Effectively accommodate the housing needs ufHawaii's people. <br />
