as reproduced in italics below, and provide the following responses.
GREG NAKAI As an affordable housing project receiving federal and state subsidies directed at
such use, Ho`omalu cannot underwrite, nor afford to support, a bus stop on an
NICA—hl'ES"ANS"N.AS1.,` off-site location that serves the general public. While SCD would be amenable
to providing and supporting a Hele On stop within the project, and would find
1001 Bishop Stwt.Suite 650 that very beneficial to its future tenants, SCD has no jurisdiction on uses along
Haxn,hiIu.Hawaii%813-34" Waikoloa Beach Drive. The latter is a private roadway with uses governed by the
In addition, SCD is concerned that a bus stop located on Waikoloa Beach Drive
printed mi er-FleE paper would require a 1,600-foot walk from the Ho`omalu Community Center (more
from any given residence) and thus its use may not be an attractive option for
most Ho`omalu residents.
However, based on discussions you and Mr. Daniel Sandomire have had, I
understand SCD or its operator would be willing to support a proposal made by
