i <br /> WHEREAS, the Council further finds that awarding a stewardship grant to Pohaha I Ka <br /> Lani will benefit the community-at-large by demonstrating that maintenance fund monies can be <br /> utilized to preserve the land,promote public safety, and maintain a healthy stewardship of those <br /> properties that have been acquired using Public Access, Open Space, and Natural Resources <br /> Preservation funding; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that, <br /> pursuant to Section 10-16(h) of the Hawai`i County Charter, a Maintenance Fund stewardship <br /> grant shall be awarded to Pohaha I Ka Lani in the amount of$39,710. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that,pursuant to Section 10-16(g) of the Hawai`i <br /> County Charter, funds from the stewardship grant awarded by this resolution shall be used for <br /> public safety maintenance and preservation of the Waipi`o Valley Lookout in Hamakua acquired <br /> through the Public Access, Open Space, and Natural Resources Preservation Fund, identified as <br /> tax map key (3) 4-8-004:006. <br /> BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this <br /> resolution to the Director of Finance. <br /> Dated at Kona , Hawai`i,this 25th::day of January , 20 23 . <br /> INTRODUCED BY: <br /> r1Z,/,,,L.,.A.
