Concerns in the community about re-opening to tourism, concerns about the <br /> safety of the schools. The initial tents at the elementary school were clocked at over 90 degrees, <br /> generators are loud, temperatures are high and there is high concern over safety of the kids <br /> returning to school. Majority of the immersion programs are not going back and when they do go <br /> back the only option is distance learning in english. EPA expects to finish phase 1 shortly after <br /> thanksgiving. Phase 1.55 is when people get to re-enter and visit their properties. Phase 2 army <br /> corp of engineers can come in. Further discussion about the areas that have displaced people <br /> and where they are and where they anticipate moving to. <br /> iv. Discussion on if there is a preference. <br /> v.NACo Report <br /> CM Waters:Reminder about the NACo conference Feb 10-13, Washington Hilton. <br /> Friday, Feb 9, session called FEMA, which would be helpful. <br /> CM Carvlaho:NACo report received. <br /> c. WIR Report <br /> d. Executive Director Report <br /> ED report: ED currently in Asheville attending the Executive Directors conference. Developed <br /> financial plans, conference guidebook, corporate partnership program. The next step is to share <br /> these with the HSAC ED via email and have everyone weigh in. <br /> Focus is on three goals,fundraising, legislative,federal and national relationships. <br /> Upcoming: DC breakfast upcoming to invite local vendors to showcase their products. Will be <br /> doing a budget review, analyzing where we are at in comparison to what has been spent versus <br /> what was budgeted. In addition, the question that needs to be looked into is if we need to be a <br /> 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(6). Finally, the corporate sponsor program that can be built out, requires <br /> time to build out the website with more content. Need to do an analysis of past sponsors at each <br /> conference. Includes review of who sponsored who supported each year, categorize each one. <br /> e.
