BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br />Pursuant toTitle [ Pub. L83-113.the Domestic Volunteer Service Act of1S73.moamended, 87Stat.3S4. <br />The purpose ofthe agreement isfor AmahCorpstoprovide the County with uptoten (10AmehCorpm <br />VISTA members to perform volunteer service to strengthen and supplement efforts ioeliminate poverty and <br />poverty -related hurnmn, aoc|e|, and environmental problems. <br />AmeriCorps is a national service program that provides individuals the opportunity to service their country <br />and meet critical needs in their local communities. The program was founded in 1994. <br />The cost -share agreement provides for the County's funding of up to $45,764.00 to cost -share up to two (2) <br />AmeriCorps VISTA members and the assignment of up to eight (8) AmeriCorps VISTA members supported <br />byAnneriCorpe.
