REQUEST: <br />Pursuant to Chapter 2, Article 25, Section 2-139(a)(3), requesting a resolution identifying the award of grants <br />to non-profit organizations in amounts more than $25,000. Please see attached Exhibit A for the list of <br />organizations, project name and amount of award. <br />B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br />On March 23, 2022, the County of Hawaii passed Ordinance 22-26, which appropriates seventy-five percent <br />(75%, . ) of tier two property tax revenues for the next five fiscal years towards addressing homelessness and <br />housing. <br />On August 16, 2024, the Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD), published a Request for <br />Proposal for the Homelessness and Housing Support Grants. The intent of the grant program was to solicit <br />organizational capacity that will assist the County with carrying out initiatives and programs incorporating the <br />priorities within the Strategic Roadmap for Homelessness and Housing dated September 1, 2022. <br />The OHCD finds that the appropriation of the Homelessness and Housing Fund constitutes a public purpose. <br />SIGNED: DATE: $'3 2-02' <br />Department Head <br />
