REQUEST: <br />The department intends to enter into a multi -year agreement, with the vendor to be determined, for a <br />five-year term, encompassing 350 electronic citation licenses, associated equipment, and maintenance <br />for the issuance of electronic citations in Hawai'i County. <br />The estimated cost for the first year is $249,334.00, with an anticipated annual cost of $241,614.63 for <br />years two through five. All associated expenses will be funded through the Highway Funds. <br />B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br />4RULl <br />Electronic citations are a modern solution designed to streamline the process of issuing citations <br />electronically, replacing traditional paper -based systems. Electronic Citations offer several potential cost <br />efficiencies over traditional paper -based systems: <br />• Reduced Paper and Printing Costs: Elimination or reduction of paper usage and printing costs <br />associated with paper citations. <br />• Efficiency Gains: Streamlined processes lead to reduced administrative time and effort per <br />citation issued. <br />• Accuracy and Data Integrity: Improved accuracy in data capture and reduced errors compared to <br />manual data entry. <br />DATE: DEC 2 0 2024 <br />
