No. 58-25 <br />PLACE: Council Chambers <br />Kailua-Kona, Hawaii <br />TIME: 10:05 a.m. <br />Council Chair and Members <br />Hawaii County Council <br />Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 58-25, reports as follows: <br />Resolution No. 58-25, transmitted by Finance Director Diane Nakagawa via Communication <br />No. 86, dated January 2, 2025, authorizes the Mayor to enter into a multi -year agreement for a <br />Facilities Conditions Assessment and Energy Management Plan for Hawaii County facilities. <br />This resolution authorizes the Mayor to enter into a one-year and six-month agreement with an <br />estimated cost of $328,640, for the Office of Sustainability, Climate, Equity and Resilience to <br />develop a Facilities Conditions Assessment and Energy Management Plan for County of Hawaii. <br />facilities. <br />Sustainability, Climate, Equity and Resilience Interim Administrator Bethany Morrison and Public <br />Works Business Manager Kelsey Kalua-Lewis appeared in the Hilo Chambers for questions. <br />Ms. Morrison provided background on this matter. <br />Committee Member Ashley Kierkiewicz commented in support and suggested an amendment to <br />include a report to the Council on the consultant's results. <br />Committee Member Heather Kimball commented on the funding, noting that these funds don't seem <br />sufficient due to the number of facilities that need improvement.
