REQUEST: <br />Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a multi -year lease agreement for a period of five years for nine <br />Mid -Size 4x4 trucks for the Department of Parks, and Recreation, Parks Maintenance Division. <br />B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br />The Parks Maintenance Division is requesting to lease finance nine Mid -Size 4x4 trucks to be used to <br />transport staff and equipment between baseyards and park facilities. The Park Maintenance Division's <br />operations require these trucks to perform work duties to maintain clean and safe park facitlities, island' -wide <br />without interupting services. <br />The Division intends to replace nine trucks for,its operations. Without these trucks, the Division's operations <br />will be adversely affected as its ability to complete daily activities will be compromised by park maintenance <br />duties not getting done. Trucks will not be available for the Division to operate effectively and maintenance of <br />trucks will take longer due to vehicles needing major repairs. <br />Purchase price is estimated at $60,000.00 per truck or $540,000.00 for nine trucks. The estimated lease <br />payment is $10,000.00 per month for the nine trucks. <br />Funding for the lease is, not'included in the Fiscal Year 2024-25 budget and the delivery of the trucks is not <br />expected until next fiscal year.
