Page 21, Glossary, amend the definition for Wahi Pana to read: "Wahi Pana means living <br />space and place of ecological, cultural and/or historical significance. Wahi Pana may <br />also mean legendary place." <br />10. Page 26, under section titled `Navigating Growth on Hawaii Island', amend the last <br />sentence to read: "Careful consideration of these factors are intended to result in <br />successful long-range planning and the application of Native Hawaiian ahupua`a <br />framework in all planning and development analyses. This section should articulate the <br />critical importance of the Native Hawaiian ahupua'a framework in all planning and <br />development analyses." <br />11. Page 35, first sentence under `Sustainable Development and Resilient Communities', and <br />any other sections of the plan where the goal is referenced, amend to read: "We <br />strategically apply progressive land use strategies incorporating indigenous and <br />contemporary knowledge and place -based practices to direct and manage growth for the <br />health, safety, and emergency response and preparedness services for our communities." <br />12. Page 42, Policy 1.17, amend to read: "Allow the redevelopment of existing waterfront <br />commercial structures consistent with the community character to preserve overwater <br />views where sea levels rise and/or coastal erosion will have no impact on the property." <br />13. Page 42, amend action Lh to become action La and renumber the other actions <br />accordingly. <br />14. Page 42, add new action Lf, to read: "Develop a regulatory list of invasive species for <br />Hawaii County.", and place after action Le "Revise floodplain management <br />requirements to require consideration of nature -based solutions as alternatives for all <br />projects that have the potential to affect floodplains or wetlands." <br />15. Page 44, Objective 2, and any other reference of that objective in the plan, amend to read: <br />"Apply the Native Hawaiian ahupua`a framework to preserve and enhance the health and <br />function of watersheds to promote water recharge, improve water quality, and reduce <br />runoff." <br />16. Page 45, Action 2.g, amend to read: "Amend the Special Management Area (SMA) to <br />include wetlands, riparian areas, and adjacent buffer areas." <br />
