Hawaii County Council-25 October 22,2025
MS. KIMBALL: That's a good question. Mr. Clerk, as the purveyor of those
who purvey the Code, should that be an "or"?
MR. HENRICKS: No. Would you like a further explanation?
MS. KIMBALL: No.
MR. HENRICKS: You're welcome.
MS. KIMBALL: Thank you.
MR. KANEALI`I-KLEINFELDER: Thank you, Mr. Clerk.
CHR. INABA: Council Member Kaneali`i-Kleinfelder.
MR. KANEALI`I-KLEINFELDER: I yield.
CHR. INABA: All right, any other discussion? Council Member Kagiwada and
then Vice Chair Onishi.
MS. KAGIWADA: Just thanking the maker for making this amendment. I'm in
full support.
CHR. INABA: Vice Chair Onishi.
MR. ONISHL Is Planning Director Jeff Darrow in the chambers?
MS. KIERKIEWICZ: He is approaching.
MR. ONISHL Okay, thanks.
(Note: At this time, Planning Director Jeffrey Darrow came forward to
address the members of the Council.)
MR. DARROW: Aloha, Chair Inaba, Vice Chair Onishi, and members of the
Hawaii County Council. Jeff Darrow with the Planning Department.
MR. ONISHL Thank you, Director. The only concern I have is about ducks. If
someone wanted to raise ducks, would the same format for raising chickens be the
same way of how many ducks you could have on your property?
MR. DARROW: Give me one second. Sorry. In the bill itself, it doesn't look
like it addresses specifically the number of poultry outside of hens as far as
amounts. I thought it did but it does not appear that it does. It's specific to the
number of hens. Maybe the maker of the bill might be able to clarify.
Page 31
