Watershed is an area of land that collects <br />rainwater and directs it to a common outlet, <br />such as a stream, lake, or ocean. <br />Water Systems is any water system, whether <br />publicly or privately owned and managed, <br />that provides water for human consumption <br />to at least 15 connections or regularly serves <br />at least 25 individuals. <br />Yes In My Backyard (YIMBY) refers to a <br />movement that describes advocates who <br />support housing development as a response <br />to the outcomes of restrictive zoning and <br />planning policies. <br />Zone of Influence in the context of <br />drinking water refers to the area surrounding <br />a water source, such as a well or a reservoir, <br />where the extraction of water affects the <br />local groundwater levels or flow patterns. <br />This zone is crucial for managing and <br />protecting drinking water supplies, as it <br />delineates the region where human <br />activities, such as pumping, can impact the <br />quality and quantity of water available. <br />Properly understanding and managing the <br />zone of influence helps ensure sustainable <br />water extraction, prevents contamination,, <br />and protects the integrity of the drinking <br />water source. <br />Glossary I County of Hawaii General Plan <br />21 <br />
