The unit will implement community oriented prosecution strategies to <br /> reduce and prevent crime and to increase community involvement in the criminal justice <br /> process. Monies through the U.S. Department of Justice, Edward Byrne Memorial State & <br /> Local Law Enforcement Assistance Formula Grant will allow for the establishment of these <br /> positions to staff the COP unit. <br /> Comm. 407: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 01-55, AS AMENDED, THE <br /> (Bill 128) OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAII FOR THE FISCAL YEAR <br /> ENDING JUNE 30, 2002 (by appropriating a $200,000 grant from the Federal Department of <br /> Commerce's Economic Development Administration) <br /> From Director of Finance William Takaba, dated October 19, 2001, transmitting the above <br /> bill.
