Wastewater: The applicant indicates that wastewater generated by the proposed two lot <br />subdivision will be serviced with systems meeting with the requirements of the State <br />Department of Health. <br />26. Solid Waste: The nearest landfill is the West Hawaii Landfill at Pu'uanahulu, which <br />was designed to serve as the regional solid waste disposal facility. <br />27. Utilities: All necessary utilities are or will be made available to support the proposed <br />two -lot subdivision. <br />AGENCIES' COMMENTS <br />28. Department of Land and Natural Resources: (March 10, 2003 memorandum) <br />"The Department of Land and Natural Resources has no comment to offer on the subject <br />matter." <br />29. Department of Health: (March 7, 2003 memorandum) <br />"A portion of the proposed project is located within 1000 feet of a public drinking water <br />source. One individual wastewater system will be allowed to be used for the project and <br />must either contain an aerobic unit with disinfection or a non -discharge disposal system if <br />located in the portion within 1000 feet of the public drinking water source." <br />30. Department of Transportation: (February 21, 2003 memorandum) <br />"The application's (sic) proposal to subdivide and rezone a lot for a dwelling, crop <br />cultivation and cattle grazing will not have an impact on our State highway facilities. The <br />principle road (Route ISO) serving the site falls under the jurisdiction of the County." <br />31. Department of Environmental Management: (February 12, 2003 memorandum) <br />"We have reviewed the subject application and offer the following comments: <br />• Commercial operations may not use transfer stations for disposal. <br />• Aggregates and any other construction/demolition waste should be reused to its <br />fullest extent. <br />• Ample room should be provided for recycling. <br />• Greenwaste may be disposed of only at the drop sites located at the Kailua and <br />Hilo Transfer Stations." <br />
