REQUEST: <br /> Reallocate the Building Custodian I 1/2 Time to Park Caretaker 1 F/T and <br /> transfer the position from Recreation to the Parks Maintenance DIvision. <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> The department is in the process of reviewing all maintenance positions in <br /> the various divisions and consolidating these assignments under the Parks <br /> Division. - <br /> By doing so, the continuity and back-up coverage will be provided, in comparison <br /> to our current operations when a Recreation custodian is out, then the facility <br /> is not cleaned or at times, we are having the white collar employees work out -of <br /> class and perform Unit 1 work in order to continue our programs. <br /> The increase in time is being requested to address weekend coverage in the <br /> North Kohala district, which is currently handled either on Saturday or Sunday <br /> when employees are willing to work the overtime. <br /> The King Kamehameha Statue in North Kohala attracts many tourists over the <br /> weekend and the restrooms and surrounding areas need to be cleaned regularly. <br /> By increasing the hours of the position and changing the work schedule, we <br /> will have weekend coverage for restroom sanitation and rubbish pick up. <br /> <br /> SIGNED: ~7r~"'~w DATE: 9/~~~yja_.- <br /> Departm nt Head <br /> <br />
