REQUEST: <br /> Request additional appropriation for Police Microwave Relocation and System Renovation in the amount of <br /> $700,000 for upgrades to allow for co-locators. Funding will be from private sources. <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> The Microwave Relocation and System Renovation project was initiated to replace the existing microwave <br /> communications system used by a variety of public safety agencies. The project involves analysis of the <br /> current facilities, agreements with co-locators, acquisition of tower sites, tower modification and new tower <br /> construction, equipment purchase and installation, and ultimately the transition to the new equipment. <br /> Costs for adding co-locators to the microwave system were determined during the analysis phase of the <br /> project.
