A speed study consisting of trial runs was conducted and we find speeds ranging <br /> from 25 MPH to 40 MPH is appropriate for Kamaoa Road. We have been in contact with the Ka'u Police <br /> Department and they support this proposal. <br /> We request the Hawaii County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10, Section 24-255, Schedule 3 (25 mile per hour limit); <br /> Section 24-256, Schedule 4 (30 mile per hour limit); and Section 24-259, Schedule 7 (40 mile per hour limit) be <br /> amended as described in the attached draft for an ordinance. A location map is attached. <br /> Under separate cover, we are transmitting the proposed ordinance to the Public Works Committee Chair for <br /> introduction. <br /> We ask For your review and consideration for adoption of the subject amendment.
