Are cases tracked by the number of <br /> successfully prosecuted cases? <br /> - Charges opened reflect the amount of charges referred to the office from the Police <br /> Department. <br /> - Accepted for Prosecution reflect the amount of charges that were charged by penal <br /> summons, indictment, complaint or other. <br /> - Disposed reflects the number of charges that have been resolved by guilty, not guilty, <br /> dismissed by the office, dismissed by the court or plea bargained. <br /> Cases are not tracked by the number of successful prosecutions, rather focus on fair and just <br /> prosecution. <br /> 28. With implementation of the new Drug Court and a newly planned Juvenile Drug Court, are <br /> new Prosecuting Attorney positions needed? <br /> We are presently utilizing 2 exisiting deputy positions for the Adult Drug Court. As the <br /> program increases and with Juvenile Drug Court starting there will be a need for a deputy in <br /> East and West Hawaii with clerical staff to assist them with their work. <br /> <br />
