Arakaki, Chairman <br />and Members of the County Council <br />Page 4 <br />Department of Water Supply standards need to be developed as a <br />condition of approval for land use amendments? <br />C) A financial implementation plan should be developed to address <br />infrastructure improvements. <br />D) A definitive response from the State Department of Education <br />should be received regarding the need for additional school sites as <br />proposed which includes a reasonable schedule for actual <br />construction. <br />3. Future Actions - <br />A) With the understanding that the land use amendments will require <br />a certain time frame for accomplishment, the Planning <br />Commission requests that the Council adopt a policy direction with <br />regard to applications for changes to land use that are submitted for <br />the Commission consideration before the action steps as outlined <br />above are actually completed. <br />Furthermore, the Commission respectfully recommends that the Council <br />understands the critical nature of the action steps by developing a time frame for initiating <br />and accomplishing the stated tasks for implementation. <br />A copy of the Hawaiian Paradise Park Community Master Plan (March 1997) and Background <br />Report are enclosed for your information. <br />Should you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact Alice Kawaha or Susan <br />Gagorik of the Planning Department at Extension No. 8288. <br />Sincerely, <br />Kevin M.
