Honorable James Y. Arakaki, Chairman
and Members of the County Council
Page 4
Department of Water Supply standards need to be developed as a
condition of approval for land use amendments?
C) A financial implementation plan should be developed to address
infrastructure improvements.
D) A definitive response from the State Department of Education
should be received regarding the need for additional school sites as
proposed which includes a reasonable schedule for actual
construction.
3. Future Actions -
A) With the understanding that the land use amendments will require
a certain time frame for accomplishment, the Planning
Commission requests that the Council adopt a policy direction with
regard to applications for changes to land use that are submitted for
the Commission consideration before the action steps as outlined
above are actually completed.
Furthermore, the Commission respectfully recommends that the Council
understands the critical nature of the action steps by developing a time frame for initiating
and accomplishing the stated tasks for implementation.
A copy of the Hawaiian Paradise Park Community Master Plan (March 1997) and Background
Report are enclosed for your information.
Should you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact Alice Kawaha or Susan
Gagorik of the Planning Department at Extension No. 8288.
Sincerely,
Kevin M. Balog, Chairman
Planning Commission
LHPPOI.pc
Enclosures
cc: Planning Director
Mr. John Luchau
