Charlie's Story
Charlie was a feral cat about 2 years old. We trapped him and had him
neutered with help from advoCats. He owned me from the first time he
let me pet him! He got jealous when the other cats got attention. He
was a beautiful cat and he always reminded me of a child dressed in a
cat Halloween costume. He would nibble on my knees, arms and toes
to get me to pet him and he rolled over for a belly scratch as soon as I
put my hand under him. He would meow at my screen doors to get me
to come out and he would not eat until I was finished petting him
On January 21, 2005 between 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM two dogs viciously "1
attacked my cat Charlie. A concerned neighbor witnessed the attack and
went knocking door-to-door to try to find his owners. She said the -
f`:.
attack was brutal and the kitty did everything he could to get away. The
dogs both had hold of Charlie and they were ripping him apart. My
neighbor's son scared the dogs away and they dropped Charlie. She
said she didn't know where the cat went but she thought he was dead.
They chased the dogs and took their picture near Lina Poe Poe Street.
We went out with flashlights and saw Charlie struggling up the hill. We
could not get to him before he went under the neighbor's deck. They have a large deck with small crawl
spaces (not big enough for people) so we could not find him. We waited a few days and still no sign of
Charlie. None of the neighbors had seen him but one thought she smelled something coming from the other
neighbor's house. I started searching around the two houses with a flashlight. I found him in a crawl space
way under my neighbor's deck. He was dead. My neighbors graciously tore apart part of their deck so we

could get him out.

I buried Charlie on January 26"' on the hillside where he used to hunt. Needless to say I am still very upset

about this and miss him terribly. O
~
Atea
d
u
M.y.
