We also do some light processing into juice
and dried products in our certified kitchen at our Huina Rd location.
We sell these products to the public at our Volcano Highway farm
location which is zoned Ag 20. The name of our outlet is "Island
Fruits", although it is owned by Hula Brothers, Inc.
This is a permitted use under the Hawaii County Statutes. We
only sell produce and value added agricultural products from our
own farms and those grown in Hawaii. Our customers include many
local residents and some visitors. We feel that this is an ideal way to
expose the public to our local areas agricultural products.
Future plans call for obtaining a special use permit and
expanding our operations to include facilities where visitors may
walk through our orchards. However, we first need to establish that
we can justify that capital expenditure, by proving to ourselves (and ~ a'
our banker) that our fruit outlet is a viable economic operation. ~ y
~ ~

P.O.
