Spay/Neuter Special Fund <br /> <br /> REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS <br /> Grant Guidelines and Criteria <br /> INTRODUCTION <br /> The Spa}' Neuter Special Fund was established in 2005 under Ordinance No. <br /> Amending Chapter 4 ofthe Hawai'I County Code 1983 (1995 Edition). <br /> The Spa}' Neuter Special Fund is funded from the proceeds from all licensing fees <br /> pursuant to Section 4-12 of Chapter 4 and all impoundments and kennel fees pursuant to <br /> Section 4-20 of Chapter 4 as well as any Council appropriations for the purposes of <br /> Section 4-36 and any grants and private contributions intended for the purposes of the <br /> Spay-Neuter Special Fund. <br /> The Fund exists to reduce animal overpopulation in the County of Hawaii and seeks to <br /> accomplish this goal by providing funds to non-profit organizations within the County of <br /> Hawaii that provide free or low-cost spay/neuter services. <br /> ELIGIBILITY <br /> Applicants must be a Hawaii non-profit 501(c)3 humane organization working within the <br /> community to assist companion animals <br /> DEADLINE <br /> Proposals must be postmarked no later than March I S of the current year. The original <br /> and six (6) copies must be included. <br /> Proposal shall be mailed to: <br /> Department of Finance <br /> Count}• of Hawai' i <br /> Spay Neuter Fund Committee <br /> 25 Aupuni Street <br /> Hilo, Hawai'I 96720 <br /> An acknowledgement e-mail of letter within two weeks of receiving an application. For <br /> questions during the application process, please a-mail or phone <br /> at the following <br /> CONTRACT TERMS AND CONDITIONS <br /> The maximum term of an award is one }'ear. Funding for the grants is subject to the <br /> proceeds from all licensing fees pursuant to Section 4-12 and all impoundments and <br /> kennel fees pursuant to Section 4-20; Council appropriations for the purposes of Section <br /> 4-36 and any grants and private contributions intended for the purposes of the Spay- <br /> Neuter Special Fund. <br /> <br />
