Spay/Neuter Special Fund REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS Grant Guidelines and Criteria INTRODUCTION The Spa}' Neuter Special Fund was established in 2005 under Ordinance No. Amending Chapter 4 ofthe Hawai'I County Code 1983 (1995 Edition). The Spa}' Neuter Special Fund is funded from the proceeds from all licensing fees pursuant to Section 4-12 of Chapter 4 and all impoundments and kennel fees pursuant to Section 4-20 of Chapter 4 as well as any Council appropriations for the purposes of Section 4-36 and any grants and private contributions intended for the purposes of the Spay-Neuter Special Fund. The Fund exists to reduce animal overpopulation in the County of Hawaii and seeks to accomplish this goal by providing funds to non-profit organizations within the County of Hawaii that provide free or low-cost spay/neuter services. ELIGIBILITY Applicants must be a Hawaii non-profit 501(c)3 humane organization working within the community to assist companion animals DEADLINE Proposals must be postmarked no later than March I S of the current year. The original and six (6) copies must be included.
