BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDEDI: <br /> The Microwave Relocation and System Renovation Project was initiated to replace the existing microwave <br /> communications system used by a variety of public safety agencies. The project involves analysis of the <br /> current facilities, agreements with co-locators, acquisition of tower sites, tower modification and new tower <br /> construction, equipment purchase and installation, and ultimately the transition to the new equipment. <br /> Additional funds are needed for unanticipated costs related to delays to the project which have resulted in <br /> cost overruns and for cost increases due to changes in the project's construction design at two (2) sites. <br /> SIGNED: DATE: 3/21 /OS <br /> Departmen d <br /> <br />
