~ZY o! h~ <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> ~ <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 293 06 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF SIXTY THOUSAND DOLLARS <br /> <br /> ($60,000) FROM THE WAIKOLOA VILLAGE ASSOCIATION FOR THE WAIKOLOA <br /> <br /> EMERGENCY EVACUATION ROAD PROJECT <br /> WHEREAS, the Waikoloa Village Association has offered to provide the County of Hawaii Department of <br /> <br /> Public Works, the sum of SIXTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($60,000) towards the construction of the Waikoloa <br /> Emergency Evacuation Road, an alternate evacuation route for the Waikoloa Village residents; and <br /> WHEREAS, these funds will be used towards the construction of a gravel road from an extension of Hulu <br /> <br /> Street in Waikoloa Village, makai to connect with the Queen Ka'ahumanu Highway and towards an environment <br /> assessment for the mauka portion of the portion road through land owned by the Association, and <br /> WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on <br /> behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works recommends the acceptance of this contribution. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in <br /> accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of Hawaii <br /> accepts this contribution. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to the <br /> Waikoloa Village Association, P.O.
