No. 293-06 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> TIME: 10:28 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 293-06, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 293-06, transmitted jointly with Bill No. 253 by Director of Finance <br /> William Takaba, via Communication No. 768, dated March 20, 2006, authorizes the acceptance <br /> of a donation from the Waikoloa Village Association. <br /> The Waikoloa Village Association has graciously donated Sixty Thousand Dollars ($60,000) to <br /> the County of Hawaii Department of Public Works towazds the construction of the Waikoloa <br /> Emergency Evacuation Road, an alternate evacuation route for the Waikoloa Village residents. <br /> Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the <br /> County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property. <br /> Originally heazd on April 4, 2006, this measure was postponed pending an amendment per the <br /> direction of Council Member Pete Hoffmann, which amends the donor to be "Waikoloa <br /> Community Development Corporation" in lieu of "Waikoloa Village Association". <br /> Resolution No. 293-06, Draft 2 was refen•ed to Your Committee, dated Apri14, 2006, from <br /> Council Member Virginia Isbell, per the direction of Council Member Pete Hoffmann amended <br /> the resolution to state that the donor is "Waikoloa Community Development Corporation". <br /> <br /> A letter of appreciation will be sent to the Waikoloa Community Development Corporation, <br /> <br /> P.O.
