Disaster Public Information and Preparedness Education <br /> <br /> This initiative will continue to support the National Response Plan and Incident Management by <br /> <br /> enacting an aggressive public information program, public education program, outreach and full <br /> development and implementation of a Virtual Joint Information System (VJIS) supporting daily <br /> communication among public information personnel and then functions as a Virtual Joint <br /> Information Center (VJIC) to enhance and augment the traditional physical Joint Information <br /> Center(JIC) during a crisis or disaster. <br /> Strengths: Implementation, showcasing, and acceptance of a VJIS/VJIC and the realization this <br /> system can support day-to-day operations in order to be an effective tool during disasters, <br /> Needs and Challenges: More systems, and the integration of the system during training and <br /> exercises.
