REQUEST: <br /> Request to amend Ordinance 06-80, Capital Improvement Budget, to increase the appropriation for the <br /> following project: <br /> Honokaa Large Capacity Cesspool Replacement (110.699.5693.18.115) -County from $600,000 to <br /> $1,200,000 <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDEDI: <br /> A Project Data/Financial Impact Statement is attached. <br /> The Honokaa Large Capacity Cesspool Replacement project involves the design and installation of new <br /> sewer mains and a new Wastewater Treatment Plant in order to meet Environmental Protection Agency <br /> requirements to eliminate large capacity cesspools. We wish to increase the FY06-07 appropriation from <br /> $600,000 to $1,200,000 which will bring total appropriations for design costs on this project to $1,800,000. <br /> The $1,800,000 needed for design costs is estimated as follows: <br /> 1) Honokaa Collector Sewer - $661,250 <br /> 2) Wastewater Treatment Plant -approximately $1,100,000 <br /> The increase in costs are due to the additional complexity involved in design of a Wastewater Treatment and <br /> will include property surveying, installation of roadway access, as well as utility infrastructure (water, <br /> electricity, telephone). <br /> SIGNED: /i~%~~~~~' ~ DATE: y/S ~ 7 <br /> Department Head <br /> O:\080202\Fonns\B-52\8.52 -Request for Council Action -Honokaa LCC Replacement 020507.doc <br /> <br />
