Subject Property: The property is a vacant, rectangular shaped lot, which is 9,230 <br /> square feet in size. The property has been fenced, grubbed and graded by the applicant to <br /> provide additional parking for the medical building employees. <br /> 16. Surrounding Land Uses/Zoning: Surrounding lands are in a mix of commercial, <br /> agricultural and single-faznily residential uses. Properties adjacent to the east and west of <br /> the project site are zoned RS-7.5 and consist of single family dwellings. The Punahele <br /> Professional Building borders the property to the south and is zoned CN-10. The Hawaii <br /> Community Correctional Facility is located to the north directly across Punahele Street <br /> and is zoned RS-7.5. <br /> 17. U.S.D.A. Soil Type: Hilo silty clay loam, 0 to 10 percent slopes (HOC). <br /> 18. ALISH: Existing Urban Development. <br /> 19. Land Study Bureau's Productivity Rating: Existing Urban Development. <br /> 20. FIRM: Zone "X", an area located outside of the 500-year flood azea. <br /> 21. Flora/Fauna: No professional floral or faunal survey was submitted with the <br /> application, as the property was previously graded and there is no vegetation on the <br /> property. According to the applicant, the property has historically been used for sugar <br /> cane. <br /> 22. ArchaeologicallCultura]/Historical Resources: An archaeological assessment of the <br /> property was conducted by PHRI in July of 2006. The assessment concluded that no <br /> archaeological resources were identified during the pedestrian survey, as the entire <br /> project area is currently a gravel pazking lot. By letter dated February 20, 2007, the State <br /> Department of Land and Natural Resources-State Historic Preservation Division issued a <br /> letter stating that DLNR-SHPD finds that the report is acceptable and that no historic <br /> properties will be affected by the proposed development. <br /> 23.
