REQUEST: <br /> Prepare a resolution to recognize and authorize the Hawaii Fire Department's participation and financing <br /> arrangement related to the State Civil Defense Urban Search & Rescue Program. <br /> Prepare a complimentary ordinance as follows: <br /> 3305 State Grants $6,000 <br /> 010.221.5228 Fire Grants $6,000 <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> The Office of Civil Defense, of the State of Hawaii Department of Defense (SCD), sponsors "Urban Search <br /> and Rescue Training" (US&R), and a "US&R Development Committee". The Hawaii Fire Department (HFD) <br /> is a participant in this program. SCD reimburses HFD for travel, subsistence, and overtime expenditures <br /> relating to these activities.
