REQUEST: <br /> Prepare a resolution to accept a gift of $10,956 from the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Fund. The funds are <br /> designated to purchase new flight helmets, equipped with communication devices, for the pilots of the rescue <br /> helicopter (based at Waiakea Station) and rescue/aeromedical helicopter (based at S. Kohala Station) of the <br /> Hawaii Fire Department. Please send a letter of appreciation and a copy of the resolution to: Hawaii <br /> Community Foundation, attention: Kalei Stern, 1164 Bishop Street, Suite 800, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813. <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> The Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Fund was established by Dr. Frank and Laura Sayre in memory of their son, <br /> Daniel who lost his life in a tragic accident in Pololu Valley. The Fund annually recognizes the bravery of the <br /> Hawaii County Fire Rescue squads and provides monetary support to purchase need rescue equipment for <br /> the department.
